Stinson Beach

Coyote, Stinson Beach

This weekend, I drove up to Mount Tamalpais, but the State Park was closed due to a high fire risk in the area. I continued down to Stinson Beach instead, but I passed a coyote on the way. I pulled over and was surprised when it approached the car instead of running away. I’d guess people have been feeding it, and it’s learning they can be a source of an easy meal. That’s such a shame because that’s bound to end in tragedy. In the two minutes I was parked, three other cars pulled up for a look, but I didn’t want to crowd it, so I left them to it. I hope it gets the chance to stay wild.
