Lone Pine Lake

They say everything’s bigger in Texas, but after two recent trips (in Texas and California), California held all the truly massive sights. First was a hike up Mount Whitney, the tallest peak in the contiguous United States, and then to Sequoia National Park, home to General Sherman, the largest tree in the world. The hats were smaller in California, though.
